Users Believe Apple Intelligence Is Worth Paying $10 Monthly, With Perception Likely to Improve Over Time

iPhone users have reported in a new Morgan Stanley survey that Apple Intelligence is more useful than the company expected. It was also published in the survey that more than half of the respondents are willing to pay at least $10 per month for unlimited access to Apple Intelligence and it only goes to show user perception against the available features, despite delays.

Apple Intelligence gains momentum in the market with stronger-than-expected marks, despite delayed features

We have heard last year that Apple wants to make its AI features available to users as a dedicated service for which it can charge for. However, Apple is yet to develop proper use cases and utilities that will offer value to the end user. Based on results in the online survey conducted by investment firm Morgan Stanley in February and March, Apple Intelligence is quite useful to users than originally anticipated.

Chris Ciaccia from Seeking Alpha writes in a new report that 80 percent of eligible iPhone users have used Apple Intelligence in the past six months. Many have described that the platform is easy to use and innovative, while others have described it as something that improved their user experience.

42 percent of the respondents from a total of 3,300 users claim that it is very important for their next iPhone to have Apple Intelligence. 54 percent of users who plan to buy the iPhone 17 stated that it is very important for them to have a device that has Apple Intelligence.

As mention, the survey also indicates that more than half the respondents are willing to spend up to $10 per month for full access of Apple Intelligence. This means that users have a solid perception of Apple’s AI features, even though the company has delayed some of them until next year.

The survey shows a different perspective of Apple Intelligence, not the kind we typically hear regarding the company’s struggles in the field and its late entry into the market. It was also previously reported that the company eventually aims to transform Apple Intelligence into a service, but has to wait at least three years so it can develop and perfect the platform with features that bring real value to the table.

AppleRadar’s Take: Apple’s AI perception could change with the next wave of AI features in iOS 19

If Apple plays its card right and bring major additions alongside the delayed Personalised Siri feature to the iPhone with iOS 19 and iPadOS 19, it could bridge the gap between itself and the giants of the industry such as Google and OpenAI.

With Apple’s experience and loyal fanbase in the industry, the public perception could change for good, which could make Apple sit on the AI throne, but it all depends on the kind of utilities the company is planning to bring with the next wave of AI features.

The company should focus on introducing features that will make AI a part of user’s everyday lives. This could allow the company to gather more people as part of its vast user base. We believe that Apple still has to perfect the technology and make Apple Intelligence a really useful addition for the end user, only then would it be able to justify a $10 a month price tag. For now, there are little to no features that would give users exclusive value.
