Apple Releases iOS 27 Developer Beta Alongside iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, And More

Apple has officially released the first iOS 27 developer beta, giving developers and early testers their first chance to try the company’s latest iPhone update after its WWDC 2026 announcement. The update is now available through the Software Update section on eligible iPhone models, and as always, this is the version meant for testing, not for people who need their iPhone to behave like a responsible adult.

iOS 27 Developer Beta Is Now Available Alongside Apple’s Other Platform Updates

Alongside iOS 27, Apple has also released the first developer betas of iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. This means developers can now begin testing Apple’s full software lineup across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple TV.

iOS 27 brings several major changes, including Siri and Apple Intelligence upgrades, faster app launches, improved AirDrop performance, smarter system-wide search, Liquid Glass refinements, and updates to key apps like Photos, Maps, Safari, Mail, Health, Messages, and Shortcuts.

Before you head over to the Settings to download the latest updates, be sure to follow the prerequisites to update to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.

Users with an Apple Developer account can check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update, and Beta Updates. However, it is worth remembering that this is still early beta software, so bugs, battery drain, app crashes, and random weirdness should be expected.

The public beta is expected to arrive later, while the final iOS 27 release will roll out to all supported users this fall.
