Today, Apple has seen fit to announce its iPhone event, where it will see fit to showcase the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, as well as the highly anticipated iPhone Fold, or iPhone Ultra, as some would like to call it.
The company plans to hold its annual event on Wednesday, September 9 at Apple Park campus in California. The event will start at its typical 10:00 AM PT time, with select members of the media.
Apple’s iPhone Ultra finally has a launch date
We are expecting the Apple event to be quite interesting in terms of the announcements, with the iPhone Fold, slated to be the brand-new entry. There will be an iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, but no iPhone 18 this year.
This is Apple’s decision to segregate the lineup as part of its broad launch strategy.
All three iPhone models will be equipped with the latest A20 Pro chip fabricated on TSMC’s 2nm process for better performance and efficiency. The iPhone 18 Pro models will also come with better camera hardware changes, such as upgraded variable aperture, but the rest of it would be pretty similar to the iPhone 17 Pro.

Apple’s first foldable will be the company’s new form factor since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017. It will feature a book-style design, and quite similar to Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 8. It will be not too tall when in folded state, but the aspect ratio would be pretty similar to the iPad mini when unfolded. It will be 5.5 inches for the outer and 7.8 inches for the internal display.
However, it will not feature Face ID, instead, the company is bringing Touch ID back to the iPhone. This time, it will be housed in the Side button.
Apart from the iPhone, Apple will also introduce the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. There is also a possibility of a new smart home device from Apple and a new Apple TV 4K. We will be covering the event in extensive detail, so do stick around.
