iOS 18.3 Beta 1 Released To Developers – How To Download

Apple released the final version of iOS 18.2 last week for the iPhone and a few days later, the company has now seeded the first developer beta of iOS 18.3. Apple’s gradual rollout of Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone could delay iOS 19 development, and the company’s main objective at this stage is to materialise the features it promised at WWDC 2024.

Apple has released iOS 18.3 beta 1 to developers, possibly with Apple Intelligence upgrades

The latest iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 beta updates are available through the Settings app on all compatible iPhone models. Developer who have linked their Developer Account with their Apple ID will see the update hidden in the Settings app and can be downloaded by following the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Launch the Settings app and head over to General.

Step 2: Select Software Update and then tap on Beta Updates

Step 3: Choose the beta update that you want to install your iPhone and then follow the on-screen instructions.

As mentioned earlier, you are required to connect your Apple ID with your Developer Account to receive the update over the air and if you did not, the update will not show up in the Settings app of your iPhone. Also, the process to install iPadOS 18.3 beta 1 is the same as the iPhone, so there is no need to be alarmed. Apple has also released macOS Sequoia 15.3 update to developers, which can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings.

It is unclear at this stage what the new beta of iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 brings to the table, but based on the trends and past reports, Apple will introduce new Apple Intelligence features for its devices. Apple is far from announcing the entire list of feature it announced earlier this year at WWDC and prior reports have also suggested that it will take the company as long as mid next year to fully release the Apple Intelligence features. The enhanced Siri experience is expected to arrive with iOS 18.4, which the company could release at its Spring event.

Last week, Apple released iOS 18.2 for the iPhone and the update brought a fair share of major features and changes to the table, including ChatGPT support for Siri. Siri is now able to request complex queries from ChatGPT with your permission and the knowledge-base of the digital assistant has grown a lot. The update also included a new Image Playground app that allows users to generate images using natural language command. Another major addition was the launch of Genmoji, which is capable of generating customised emojis based on the prompts. Developers are already discovering new features in iOS 18.3 and other updates, so hold on to your seats and wait for what the update brings to the platform.
