Apple may not be ready to give the iPhone a fully clean, all-screen front just yet, but a new leak suggests the company could finally be making a visible step in that direction. Fresh images now point to a smaller Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro, which could end up being one of the model’s more noticeable display changes if the leak holds up.
The New iPhone 18 Pro Leak Adds More Weight To A Smaller Dynamic Island Rumor
The leaked images were shared by an X account called @earlyappleleaks, claiming the devices to be alleged iPhone 18 Pro prototypes. The image appears to show a much smaller Dynamic Island area, with a separate circular cutout that may hint at at least one Face ID component being moved under the display. However, the X account is relatively new and we should not place all our bets on it, so do take the news with a pinch of salt.
We do have to consider that what the account posted is not new information at all, as various analysts and leakers have suggested the same thing in the past, including Ice Universe, a prominent leaker. He also stated that the smaller Dynamic Island might not be limited to the ‘Pro’ models alone, as the standard versions could also be getting the upgrade.
Able to share this now.

Moreover, another leaker by the name of Majin Bu also claimed that the Dynamic Island could be getting as much as 35 percent smaller compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models. If we look at it from a broader perspective, a 35 percent reduction in size is quite significant and noticeable, which gives us a hunch that the company is gradually moving to an all-screen front.
Note that there are conflicting reports as well, with Digital Chat Station claiming that the Dynamic Island would remain the same size as the iPhone 17 lineup. So while the latest image gives this rumor more momentum, the safer takeaway is that Apple appears to be working toward a smaller cutout, but the exact timing is still not locked in.
This is the kind of change that could matter beyond the looks of the device, because a smaller Dynamic Island would signal Apple is still moving piece by piece toward a more uninterrupted front design rather than saving every major display move for one dramatic redesign later.
