Apple is working on a brand-new model of the iPhone and It will look vastly different than the standard iPhone 17 lineup. A new leak showcases the iPhone 17 Air from the back, highlighting the changes we should be looking forward to from the back, including a single-lens camera.
Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a camera bar on the rear similar to the Pixel models
It was previously reported that the device is slated to look like the Google Pixel lineup, at least from the rear, as Apple plans to change the traditional camera bump and replace it with a bar or visor. Apple is speculated to keep the design the same on the rest of the lineup, but the iPhone 17 Air will offer a brand-new look.
An allegedly leaked image of the iPhone 17 Air showcases the back of the device and its single lens camera. The picture is quite blurry and pixelated, but you can clearly see what the new design could be like. In the bigger-than-expected bar, you can see a circular camera cutout which appears to be quite bigger than the version on the iPhone SE lineup. It also features a flash and a tiny microphone cutout.
The iPhone 17 Air will house a single camera setup on the back, and the latest leak is in line with past reports and rumours. On first look, the outer shell appears to be of the iPhone 17 Air. In contrast, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will also feature a single-lens camera setup, but the visor-shape has only been reported for the iPhone Air model.
Take note that the iPhone 17 Air is far from launch and the company could be working on a handful of prototypes. Furthermore, in this age of AI, we have to take leaks with a pinch of salt. Do take note that the leak is speculated to be “confirmed” by leaker Majin Bu. The Leaker does have a pretty good track record for sharing accurate details on various aspects of Apple products.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to move away from the traditional look and offer a thinner form factor. While the device is speculated to be thinner than the iPhone 6, it would still be a wee bit thicker than the company’s latest M4 iPad Pro models which measure at 5.1mm on the 13-inch variant. The device is also expected to come with the company’s custom 5G modem onboard with subpar performance compared to Qualcomm’s modems.
Lastly, the device is also expected to feature an A19 chip coupled with 8GB of RAM, which would allow it to bolster Apple Intelligence features. The OLED display could feature a higher refresh rate panel, which is also rumoured for the standard variants of the iPhone 17. While details are scarce at this stage, we will keep you posted on the latest as soon further information is available.
