Apple Vision ‘Air’ Power Cable Leaked in Midnight Blue With Subtle Design Changes

Apple is preparing a cheaper version of the Vision-branded headset, which will potentially come with an ‘Air’ moniker. While details on the headset are short at this stage, a leaker and prototype collector known as kosutami shared details on the Vision Air headset and how it will be different from the Vision Pro.

Power cable of the budget Apple Vision Air leaked by prototype collector, showcasing the Midnight Blue color option

Kosutami has shared two images of the Vision Air’s power cable on X, and it shows interesting details related to what we should be looking forward to. The current Vision Pro headset is quite expensive and not a lot of users would be willing to pay an upwards of $3,499 for it. This is where Apple has decided to launch a new version of the headset, which would be significantly cheaper than the ‘Pro’ model.

It can be seen in the images shared that the power cable of the Vision Air is in midnight blue color option. It also looks black from certain angles but so does the midnight color on the MacBook Air lineup. It can also be seen that the power cable has 8 pins instead of 12 on the power connector of the Vision Pro, indicating that the company could looking to make design changes to the battery pack. The audio strap connector of the Vision Air will be the same as the current model, which is where the company has kept the design streamlined between the two models.

Even though the budget Vision Air will be cheaper, Apple will not compromise the build quality of the headset. Kosutami previously shared that the Vision Air will be slimmer than the current version with a new design. The company has taken a step in the right direction as many reviewers have stated that the Vision Pro is quite bulky and heavy on the head to be used for longer period of times.

The leaker also stated that Apple will use titanium on the inside to make the internals, including the battery enclosure more durable and lightweight. However, the external chassis of the device would still be made up of aluminium, similar to the ‘Pro’ model.

Apple will possibly launch the Vision Pro 2 later this year or early in 2026 with the new M5 chipset for better performance. Now that Apple Intelligence is supported by the headset, Apple would make sure that the forthcoming models are packed with power. The launch date of the Vision Air has not been confirmed as of yet, but the company could introduce it alongside the ‘Pro’ model.
