In an interview with YouTuber Nikias Molina, Apple CEO Tim Cook states that “there’s still so much left” that Apple can do with the iPhone and that the device will remain the center of people’s digital lives. The executive’s statement matters here, especially since the company has spent the last two years dealing with criticism that the iPhone was no longer moving the market the way it once did.

In China, specifically, Apple felt the pressure as Huawei rebounded, local brands stayed aggressive, and iPhone sales dropped sharply in early 2024 while Apple’s China revenue also weakened. While pricing is also one of the reasons, Siri and Apple Intelligence delay has also resulted in loss of sales in the region.

However, this does not mean that Apple suddenly lost all relevance in the market. It means that the company was reminded that brand strength alone cannot carry a premium phone forever if buyers stop seeing meaningful change. Tim Cook’s latest response feels like an answer to that exact problem.

All of these changes fit perfectly with Cook’s wording and Apple’s broader direction.
