iOS 27 AI Features Could Make Your iPhone Write, Build Shortcuts, And Create Wallpapers For You

Apple is finally doing right with Apple Intelligence, as far as reports related to iOS 27 AI features are concerned. Instead of just pushing a smarter Siri, Apple is also reportedly preparing upgrades for Writing Tools, wallpapers, and Shortcuts that could make everyday iPhone use feel a little less manual.

iOS 27 AI Features Could Make Writing Tools Feel More Like Grammarly

According to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is testing an expanded version of Writing Tools in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, including a dedicated AI grammar checker. The feature will reportedly work across apps like Messages and Mail, showing suggested revisions next to the original text through a translucent menu that slides up from the bottom of the iPhone’s screen.

Users will be able to accept or reject changes one by one, or have the option to approve everything at once, while also having the ability to ignore the suggestions altogether. Apple is also testing options to pause grammar checking and move between flagged sections, which sounds much closer to a proper writing assistant than the basic spellcheck iPhone users already have.

Apart from this, the company is also testing “Write With Siri” at the top of the keyboard, along with a “Help Me Write” option when Siri is activated inside a text field. The entire approach connects neatly with Apple’s wider Siri push, including its rumored new Siri app with auto-deleting chat history.

Shortcuts And Wallpapers Could Finally Become Easier For Normal People

The report also mentions that Apple is planning AI-generated wallpapers through Image Playground, with the company testing models that create more lifelike images. Since Image Playground is also tied to custom image and emoji creation, this sits in the same lane as Apple’s expected iOS 27 Genmoji automatic suggestions feature.

On the flip side, the Shortcuts app might receive the biggest upgrade of all in iOS 27. The platform will allow users to describe what they want a shortcut to do in plain language, after which Siri can build and install the workflow automatically. This change is specifically interesting as the Shortcuts app has remained significantly unexplored due to its complexity.

Apple’s Best AI Features Might Be The Ones That Silently Save Time

The interesting bit is that none of these features sound quite dramatic on their own, but together, they show where Apple may be going with iOS 27. We can safely presume that iOS 27 will be a much bigger upgrade than iOS 26 only if Apple delivers on its AI promise. Small upgrades like Writing Tools will remove friction, and the Shortcuts app will make the iPhone more focused toward the end user. Let us know in the comments what you guys think.
