Apple’s Pro iPhone colors have slowly become easier to predict over the years, with the company mostly ending up choosing the safe options anyway. However, a new iPhone 18 Pro leak suggests Apple may be pushing its louder color strategy even further this time.
iPhone 18 Pro Leak Suggests Safe Colors May Be Getting Harder To Find
According to a new leak shared by Majin Bu on X, Apple is reportedly testing new color options for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, which includes a new darker cherry-like finish. Take note that the final color names are still unclear for now, but the direction already feels quite interesting, and it is something that we have already observed.
Apple’s Pro models traditionally stayed within fairly conservative territory, with colors like Silver, Graphite, Space Black, and Natural Titanium usually acting as the “safe” choices for users. Now, the company appears to be experimenting a bit further, as it introduced the controversial Cosmic Orange with the iPhone 17 Pro, and now all eyes are set on the cherry red.

This is not the first time that the cherry red color emerged out of nothing, as prior reports point to something similar, which gives this leak further credibility. Also, Majin Bu is a reputable leaker, who has shared accurate details related to Apple products in the past.
Apple Seems To Want The iPhone 18 Pro To Feel New Before Users Even See The Specs
It can be seen that Apple remains increasingly interested in making the Pro lineup feel visually fresh, especially as yearly hardware upgrades become harder for average users to notice at first glance. We can easily speculate that the leak could very well be true, since the company is moving closer to the mass production stage.
A darker cherry finish would stand out far more aggressively than Apple’s usual muted Pro palette, especially if paired with the rumored iPhone 18 Pro redesign and slimmer bezels. Combined together, the device could end up feeling noticeably different in everyday use, even before users start noticing the internals, like the A20 Pro chip or the camera upgrades.
For now, these colors remain part of the rumor cycle, but Apple’s recent direction suggests the company may no longer be treating Pro iPhone colors as background details. The company always introduces a new flashy color if the design remains the same, which is a way for users to differentiate from older models. Do you think the dark cherry is a bit too much for a phone? Let us know in the comments.
