Apple is getting ready to announce iOS 27 at its WWDC 2026 event, but the bigger question for many users is simple. Will my iPhone get iOS 27? The answer could be slightly uncomfortable for older models, especially if Apple uses this year’s update to move deeper into Apple Intelligence and newer hardware.
iOS 27 Compatible devices Could Leave Some Older iPhones Behind This Year

If Apple moves forward with this cut, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the second generation of the iPhone SE could miss out on iOS 27. These models are still widely used, so the change would be frustrating for many users, but it would also fit Apple’s usual pattern of slowly moving older models out of the major iOS update cycle.
iPhones Getting iOS 27 May Not Receive Every New Feature
The important part is that compatibility and feature access are not the same thing. Even if your model appears on the list of iPhone getting iOS 27, some of the biggest Apple Intelligence and Siri upgrades could still be limited to newer devices with more powerful A series chips, including the iPhone 15 Pro models and newer models.
What this means is that the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and some iPhone 14 users may still receive the update, but not necessarily the full AI experience Apple shows on stage.
